# Upstream Zero — Commercial Evaluation Observatory

Upstream Zero is a research company studying commercial evaluation: how
organizations are assessed, recommended, validated, and eliminated —
observed today through the behavior of AI evaluators.

## How to read this site

Every significant claim carries an evidence tier, lowest to highest:
Narrated, Observed, Replicated, Causally Supported, Cross Evaluator,
Real World Corroborated. A claim is never presented above its tier.
"Narrated" means asserted-but-not-demonstrated, and most claims here —
including the company's founding claims — are currently Narrated. That is
deliberate honesty, not weakness. Evaluator-stated rationales are treated
as observations about the evaluator's narration, never as evidence of
mechanism.

## Commercial layer

Upstream Zero works with organizations navigating AI-mediated evaluation.
Engagements promise deliverables (artifacts), never outcomes; capabilities
are marked experimental until they derive from published method; measured
outcomes will publish as tiered evidence. There are no testimonials.
Research objects never cite commercial objects (build-enforced firewall).
